New in the Third Edition

This third edition has been updated for X Release 6 and MH 6.8.3. Other changes include:

• How to use multimedia email with the MIME standard.
• Three chapters, written by Brent Welch, about exmh. Three chapters, by Bill Wohler, about MH-E. The Reference Guide covers exmh and MH-E.
• To make room for the new material, this edition doesn't include printed manual pages. If you don't have online manpages, there are now directions for obtaining them.
• The shell programming chapter is much less tutorial and more specific to MH. The old chapter describing shell programs is gone; the explanations have moved to the chapters where the program would be most useful, and the programming details are in Appendix D.
• There are even more tips for using MH in real applications.
